Sound Passage Sessions

It’s simple: Use your voice to find your voice

What many people don’t know is that using the voice in particular ways can be a tool for to releasing anxiety and finding calm. By making sounds such as humming, sighing (not singing!), toning, and a variety of other gentle vocal sounds, you can let go of tension and distraction. When we combine those sounds with gentle movements, the body and mind unite for more clarity, focus, and joy.

It can also help you:

  • Express yourself more fully and without inhibition

  • Find more ease

  • Transform anxiety into empowered self-expression

  • Nurture yourself with exercises that soothe and build loving-kindness

Workshops and Private Sessions

Workshops and private sessions are a place to listen to your voice, and I will meet you right where you are. All voices and bodies are joyfully welcome in this practice. Here is how I will guide you:

Permission: Accessing the power of your voice can be scary to do on your own, especially because the critical voice can be so strong. We start with a gentle check-in to the body and breathing with awareness. Mics are off so you can sound however you wish; cameras are up to you (but I always love to see your radiant face!).

Sounding: We often start with gentle vocal exercises to open your jaw and throat and relax areas of your body that often hold tension. Sighing, humming, and holding sounds are a few ways we begin this exploration. We play with certain sounds, shifting slowly so you can feel how your body responds. Particular vocal sounds release stress, while others help you tap into your emotional centers for a gentle release. I create space for you to be just as you are.

Movement: We build in gentle movement slowly as we make sounds. Certain movements help you explore your inner fire, while others help you tap into your vulnerability. Each movement is designed to help you connect with the inner wisdom of your body. The unique combination of sound and movement helps you deepen your mind-body connection and awaken your senses.

Time/place: Sessions are 1 hour on Zoom.

Sound and camera: Your sound will be on at the beginning and end, and off throughout the session. Cameras can be on or off, though I encourage you to show your face at the beginning and end so we can see your radiance!
